First, the GOP needs to end open primaries.

There’s been a lot of talk on the Internet and elsewhere about the 2008 Republican presidential race. Among other things, it is said that Mitt Romney won all the open primaries and John McCain won the closed primaries.  I have yet to verify this statement to my own satisfaction, but I believe the statement on its face.  Rush Limbaugh actually promoted “Operation Chaos,” a plan to prolong the Democratic primary.  He told fans that, if the GOP primary in your state is over or already decided, go vote in the Democratic primary for whoever is behind to prolong the fight between Clinton and Obama.  Chaos did not ensue, but Limbaugh’s operation probably did prolong the agony.

The vapor drifted from the hot breath of the two work horses. The harness bells jingled, as their heads bobbed up and down smoothly. We floated along smooth ups and downs, in the undulating landscape, as they pulled the sleigh through the deep snow. Grandma, Grandpa, and I were neatly tucked in a nest of loose hay mounded around us. I was in between them, and well layered against the cold, but that did not stop the frosty air from nipping at my nose and cheeks.

About a year ago, my favorite can opener came up missing. Now that may not seem like a big deal to some, but have you ever had the flow of meal preparation interrupted by a lame can opener. You go around and around the top of the can, trying to puncture the tin, to no avail. At best you simply emboss the metal, and rough up the edge.

Nutty Putty Politics

Nutty Putty Cave, in Utah, is a spelunkers delight, with lots of twisty and tight caverns. Unfortunately in the 49 years since it’s discovery 2 have died in the thrill seekers, playground.  The most recent, just this last month. As a result of the tragic death, of an experienced adventurer, the cave has been blasted and cemented closed permanently.
